How do I get rid of black mould from my pavers?

This is a popular question we get asked.  Keeping black mould controlled on your pavers around the BBQ areas, the south side of the house, the pavers in your carport and so on is critical for safety reasons

Black mould is very stubborn and slippery to boot so can be quite dangerous.

We recommend you use Spray & Away diluted at 5-1 with water to treat your black mould

RE SPRAY & AWAY
I was initially a little apprehenisve about giving H7s
Spray & away moss & mould killer a go because it was considerably cheaper than "w*t & forg*t"  (Sorry we cannot name the product due to trademark legislation) so I was concerned about the quality -but after using the moss & mould product I can definitely highly recommend it! It means more time enjoying a beer on the weekends as opposed to waterblasting the drive way. Thanks Lyndon

We have purchased Spray @ Away . I firstly used Spray & Away to remove the moss and mould off my deck my wife was really not sold at the time. I applied the product to the deck as per the instructions the next morning we both realised the difference this product had made. The deck looked so fresh and clean, the green stains had disappeared.

How to use Spray and Away

You can use Spray & Away on all paver surfaces including brickwork and you just dilute with water and apply with a garden watering can or a sprayer. Its that easy. Then just leave it to work its magic.

Have the Spray & Away mixed at 5 parts water to 1 part Spray & Away and do not make it stronger than this. I've seen Spray & Away clean up lichen that has grown like a forest  when sprayed at the normal dilution rate and remove strong black mould from pavers at this strength with ease so keep it at 5-1

Be sure to put gloves on and do not inhlae the product spray as you use it. If you are near plants do not spray the plants directly.

If you get spray drift on the plants wash them off with fresh water

Once you have applied the product just wait and let nature do the rest of the work. The black mould is killed instantly, it's just a matter of the rainfall, sun, wind and natures other forces washing it away. Black mould and Lichen can take 6 months plus to go, but once they are gone they will not come back for a very long time. Spray and Away remains in the substrate for up to 12 months and makes it very hard for any fungus, mould spores and so on to start growing again.

Do an annual spray and you will be fine.

If you are in Auckland I have an electric sprayer suitable for all applications.
Hireage fee would be a red wine or two :-)
